1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites and web applications. They are widely used to make sites work correctly, remember your preferences, and provide information to site operators about how their site is being used.
"Similar technologies" include web beacons, pixel tags, local storage, and session storage, which serve similar purposes. This policy covers all of these collectively when we use the word "cookies."
2. Cookies We Use
We use the following categories of cookies:
Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are essential for the Platform to function. They cannot be disabled. Without them, you cannot log in, navigate between pages, or use core features. They do not collect information that can be used for marketing or analytics.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
session_id |
Maintains your authenticated session while you are logged in | Session / 24 hours |
frontend_lang |
Stores your language preference | 1 year |
csrf_token |
Protects against cross-site request forgery attacks | Session |
Preference Cookies
These cookies remember choices you make — such as your active association context, UI preferences, and portal state — so you don't have to reconfigure them every session. They enhance your experience but are not required for core functionality.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
rl_context |
Stores your last active association and portal context between sessions | 30 days |
sidebar_state |
Remembers whether the navigation sidebar is expanded or collapsed | 30 days |
Analytics Cookies
These cookies help us understand how visitors interact with the Platform website so we can improve it. The data collected is aggregated and does not identify individual users. Analytics cookies are set only on the marketing website (reslife.app) — not within the authenticated platform application.
Google Tag Manager (GTM) is the delivery container used to load these tags. GTM itself does not set persistent user-tracking cookies, but it executes the Google Analytics scripts listed below. All tags fired through our GTM container are limited to those listed in this policy.
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
_gtm_* |
Google Tag Manager | Internal GTM container state; does not track users directly | Session |
_ga |
Google Analytics (via GTM) | Distinguishes unique visitors for traffic analysis | 2 years |
_ga_* |
Google Analytics (via GTM) | Persists session state for Google Analytics 4 | 2 years |
_gid |
Google Analytics (via GTM) | Distinguishes unique visitors; refreshed daily | 24 hours |
Google Analytics and GTM data are processed under Google's privacy terms. To opt out of Google Analytics across all websites, install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Google's privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy.
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. ResLife.app does not use cookies for behavioral advertising, retargeting, or cross-site tracking. We do not sell or share cookie-derived data with advertising networks.
3. Third-Party Services That May Set Cookies
Some features of the Platform involve third-party services that may set their own cookies:
- Google Tag Manager — We use GTM to manage and deploy analytics tags on the ResLife.app marketing website. GTM loads scripts (including Google Analytics) as listed in the Analytics Cookies section above. No additional tracking tags are deployed through our GTM container beyond those disclosed in this policy. GTM is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
- Google Analytics — Analytics data collected via GTM is processed by Google LLC. Google acts as a data processor under our configuration. We have enabled IP anonymization and disabled data sharing with Google advertising products. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Stripe (payment processing) — Stripe's checkout and payment elements may set cookies related to fraud prevention and payment session state. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
- Odoo — The Platform is built on Odoo, which uses session and preference cookies as described in the Strictly Necessary and Preference sections above.
4. How to Control and Delete Cookies
Browser settings: All major browsers allow you to view, manage, and delete cookies through their settings menus. Instructions for common browsers:
Important: Disabling Strictly Necessary cookies will prevent you from logging in and using the Platform. Disabling Preference cookies will mean your settings and context are not saved between sessions.
Do Not Track (DNT): Some browsers include a "Do Not Track" setting. We honor DNT signals by not setting Analytics cookies when a DNT signal is detected.
5. California Residents
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), California residents have the right to know about and limit the collection of personal information via cookies. As stated in our Privacy Policy, we do not sell personal information, including information collected through cookies.
To exercise your CCPA rights, contact us at legal@reslife.app with the subject line "California Privacy Request."
6. Changes to This Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when we add new features, change service providers, or as required by applicable law. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
